8th Anniversary-Trip to Mexico

Adam and I knew before last year even came to a close that we were going to be in serious need of a vacation this summer. That was providing Henley would be at a place in her recovery that we would feel good about leaving her for a few days with one of our mothers. At the end of April we revisited the idea of a vacation and decided to go ahead and book a trip along with travel insurance so that we could cancel up until the day before we left for any reason. We were so excited to go once the time arrived and we truly had the most wonderful and relaxing vacation we have ever had....with the exception of one little hitch.

After a great first day at the resort, we got back to the room and tried to get internet access. Once we did I had a message from my dad asking us to call home as soon as possible. Right as I read that, I knew something had happened. We immediately called home and spoke to my parents who were staying here with our kids. Apparently Henley had had a minor seizure during the day while my mom was here with all three of the kids by herself. My sweet mother was so caught off guard and it scared her half to death to see Henley like that. Every time that she has had a seizure I have been the one with her. I am so used to the warning signs and apparently i failed to mention those to her as well as what to do in case of a seizure. It all ended up fine, but it was just one of those moments that we had a moment of question if we had done the right thing.

After going through with my parents the warning signs, and protocol if it were to happen again, we felt better about things and were able to wake up the next morning and get back to vacationing. We went to the El Dorado Royale Casita Suites and had the most amazing time. Here are some pictures from our wonderful 5 days in Mexico.
