Walking Brave

What had such an awesome weekend. My cousin Bridget and her boyfriend Sloan came in from Colorado. I haven’t seen her in years and was excited to meet Sloan for the first time. A couple of us got together for dinner on Friday night and caught up. It was so much fun to get to spend some really good time with them. We ate great food, told funny stories and laughed a lot. Here are some pics from the weekend. Adrian and Shelly joined us and Erik came up from Houston to be there too. 

 ✨BACK TO SCHOOL✨ These three are off! 12th, 9th and 8th graders! We are so thankful to have found a homeschool hybrid program that works for our family. 2 days at school and 3 days at home. It allows our family to have so much more quality time together, while still allowing the kids to get what they need for school, make some good friends, have those traditions you only really get in school and an environment we feel really good about. The kids were so excited to start school today. They all had a great day!  ** in case you are wondering, it’s apparently a Senior tradition to get little kid backpacks 🤷🏼‍♀️

 We could not have planned this if we tried. Sometimes you just wake up, randomly text a friend and say “hey what are you doing tonight?” And then end up spending HOURS talking over dinner and catching up on life. Heather (Sheets) Sample and I have been friends for 22 years. We always pick up right where we left off, speak absolute truth to each other (when others are maybe scared to say what they really think and won’t say “uhm yeah, this paint color isn’t it” 😂), we laugh hysterically, challenge each other and love each other fiercely.  We 100% get each other in a way few people understand….except our husbands 😂

 🏝️Maldives🏝️  Honestly, it’s hard to believe we really did this trip! This has been a bucket list dream location for us for a long time. Having business in Asia helps when you are wanting to explore this side of the world and a quick 4 hour flight from Singapore made this a no brainer when it came to where we would plan to celebrate our 20th Anniversary 🥂 Let me tell you, this place does not disappoint. It is exactly like what we dreamed it would be. This water is crazy gorgeous and would make anyone want to dive right into the warm, calm waters. We spent days truly relaxing, eating good food, experiencing incredible service and hospitality and taking in the beauty of this location day after day. One of the days we took off on an excursion to swim with wild sharks in the ocean.  It sounded like a great idea until we were standing there looking over the side of the boat into the shark infested waters and being told we could “go ahead and get in”. 😳🦈 We both looked at...

I’ve been with this man over half my life. He is truly my best friend, my favorite person, the man I still long to see at the end of each day. ⁣ ⁣When we got married, looking back, I’m not sure we knew much more than how much we loved each other, were committed to being a team and that our relationship had sticking power because we spent the majority of it “long distance”. ⁣ The amount of life we have lived in 20 short years is pretty remarkable. We’ve raised three of the coolest kids I know (its possible I’m biased) we’ve walked through incredibly hard things together, cried together, been scared together, laughed together, traveled together, challenged each other, grown together, built things we’re proud of together and been a safe place and sounding board for each other. There is literally no person I could imagine doing life with and I hope and pray the Lord blesses us with 40 more years together so we can grow old and decrepit together 😂⁣ I love you Adam!
