Henley’s 1st Homecoming

Even though mom and dad and big sister are away, Henley got to go with some girls from her new class at Trinity Prep. I was so glad she got to go with a group and have a great night. I was super sad though that I didn’t get to help her get ready and be there to take these photos myself.

If you have not read Part 1 and Part 2 of this please scroll down to get the whole story: Monday in the hospital was particularly challenging, and had its own set of problems to be worked through. Adam had been originally scheduled to leave on Tuesday morning for a business trip to China for 10 days. I am not sure if you have flown lately, but they generally don't let you "take a rain check" or transfer your ticket to someone else the day before you are to leave. This presented quite a problem since it was pretty apparent that we were not going to be leaving the hospital anytime soon. Because Adam works for my dad we had the luxury of letting him figure out how all that was going to work. If you know my dad, you know that if anyone can get something done that most people can't....its him. Filling in the gaps in quick bullet points

 I should have written about this a long time ago but I didn't know what to say and just didn't feel like I wanted to hash any of it out in an online forum. But here are the bullet points to sum up the last several years.  1. My parents separated in August of 2013 and were divorced by October. 39 years of marriage. It was a mess.  2. My mom moved in to our guest room while we helped her get settled into her new, heartbreaking "normal". We helped her build a small little place up near us in the place we hope to live one day.  3. I spent countless hours on my knees praying for the Lord to redeem all of the years the locust had stolen from her, to refresh her spirit and bring her back to life. He answered in a big way.  4. Weldon Roberts came into my mom's life early in 2016. By May they were engaged and July, married. We are absolutely thrilled to have Papa Weldon as the newest member of our family.
